Message from the President

Sisters don't need words.
They have perfected a language of snarls and smiles
and frowns and winks-expressions of shocked surprise
and incredulity and disbelief.
Sniffs and snorts and gasps and sighs-that

can undermine any tale you're telling. ~Pam Brown

Eighty years have passed since our chapter first began, and I am sure that these words applied just as much then to those charter members as they do now to our current members!
Sisterhood is a special bond, one part family, one part friendship, one part trust, and one part loyalty. As any older sister can tell you, you cannot wait to get away from them, and the minute you are, you wish you were right back with them.

Our chapter embodies the spirit of sisterhood, from the shared meeting times, to the extended lunches afterward. From rediscovering our childhood at Convention slumber parties, and attending the rest of the convention functions. From the finery of Memorial services, to the grubby work clothes of a cemetery work day. From the smiles as we give to our adopted veterans, to the tears as we realize how blessed we are, knowing that 140 years earlier our Ancestors were fighting to preserve all that we hold dear and hoping and praying that someone did for them, what we are now doing for our veterans.

We are blessed to be tied together in the bonds of sisterhood. Because not only are we Sisters, we have made the CHOICE to be sisters. Yes fate has drawn us together as in biological families, but we have been allowed the choice to align our families for the generations to come.

I hope that you will choose to join our family!

Delicia C. Wallnofer
